The Doctors’ Health and Wellbeing Curriculum brings together practical, evidence-informed education designed specifically for doctors and medical students.
Doctors’ Health Alliance (DHA) is proud to present this comprehensive national Doctors’ Health and Wellbeing Curriculum. The curriculum aligns with current national and international education frameworks and aims to strengthen the teaching of doctors’ health and wellbeing for doctors and medical students across Australia.
We are very grateful to those who have supported the development of this curriculum.
The curriculum package includes three documents:
Doctors’ Health and Wellbeing Full Curriculum: A detailed overview of the curriculum, including guidance on how the key themes can be integrated with broader medical education. These concepts are designed to be learned alongside other areas of medicine.
Doctors' Health and Wellbeing Summary: A single-page summary outlining the key themes that should be incorporated into the teaching of doctors’ health and wellbeing. This demonstrates the breadth of the field.
Doctors’ Health and Wellbeing Curriculum Table: A table providing examples of learning outcomes linked to each curriculum theme. Together, these themes support a comprehensive approach to doctors’ health and wellbeing education.
Developed by doctors with expertise in doctors’ health and wellbeing across Australia and New Zealand, the curriculum reflects the real challenges of working in medicine and supports wellbeing, safer practice and professional sustainability through practical, peer-led learning.
The Doctors’ Health Alliance is committed to supporting educators in delivering this curriculum and will continue developing practical resources and welcoming feedback.
